Parkrun UK. Can Langport be the first Junior Parkrun in Somerset?

I hope to use this blog to provide information about our efforts to start a Junior Parkrun event in Langport. Here is a notice of the next step towards our goal. We are also busy raising funds to allow registration with Parkrun UK

Langport Runners Junior Club fun run event aiming to become an official Junior Parkrun in 2015.

Langport Runners is supporting its members who are working to set up a Junior Parkrun in Langport. All our local schools will benefit. Open to all from 4 to 14 years. All abilities. Free entry.

Ideal for cross country training and for first time runners.

We ran a trial event on Sunday 9^th November when 9 juniors, from 4 to 13 years, from High Ham , Long Sutton and Huish Academy enjoyed the challenge.

We will repeat the run on Dec 7^th and will use the same 2km route on North Moor.

Registration from 9.30 am in the Town Gardens in Langport. Warmup 9.50 am , Start 10 am prompt.

Contact for pre registration preferred because this time we must put a limit on the number of runners at 50.
